SODA is a voluntary association of town, city and county governments and conservation districts within the 10-county region of Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Coal, Garvin, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray and Pontotoc counties in southern Oklahoma. SODA was established in 1957 and is one of 11 Councils of Governments in Oklahoma.

Based in Durant, Oklahoma, SODA offers planning and coordination services in areas such as community and economic development, rural fire protection, and health and nutrition programs for older adults.

Area Agency On Aging

Offering a full range of services and opportunities to help older adults live with dignity, independence, and purpose.

Helping southern Oklahoma communities fund and complete major projects that boost social and economic growth.

Rural Fire Defense

Coordinating support services and providing technical assistance to rural fire departments in southern Oklahoma.

Transportation Planning

Identifies local transportation needs and plans to support statewide transportation efforts in south-central Oklahoma.
